What a Way to End October

What a way to end October. It's raining and so cold. This is the kind of cold rain you'd expect in January. We'll see what the day brings.

The day brings Auburn beating Ole Miss 33 to 20. We are all home to watch it. The game was most pleasing.

We are favored by a visit from our friends the Hills. We see the two Hill grandkids for the first time and we see Chris and Kelley for the first time in many years.

The Halloween trick or treat turnout is light this year. We never know from year to hear how it will go.

October

The only bad thing about October is that baseball is still played. I do not follow baseball, but I am tired of the season nonetheless. Does any sport seem to drag longer than baseball? Why does baseball need 162 games to let only 4 teams into the playoffs? Harrumph! I wish the playoffs would end soon. Bud Selig, please just call a cease and declare the Yankees champions. We are in the vortex of college football season, and that need not be muddled with pesky baseball!

At 60

We have a relaxing day as I turn 60. It's more just another day than the big day I turn 60. Not as big a deal as I thought it might be. Freddy was here this weekend. We got to watch the game together. It didn't go our way, but that's football. We'll get 'em next week!
Moyna and I use Freddy's PF Chang gift card to her for dinner. I love their Dali chicken!

This Saturday Morning

On this Saturday morning the Hudsons are together in Pelham to watch college football and compare notes. It's somber looking outside but we are cozy inside.

Last Weekend

Freddy and I will long remember last weekend when we went to Knoxville and saw Auburn beat Tennessee. For the first time since 1999 we visited Neyland Stadium and THIS time Auburn was victorious. We will remember the game AND the hospitality we received from the Flynn family, Freddy's old friends from Auburn. I met their son Kori for the first time. It was glorious.

October

It's good to be back in October, the month of orange, my favorite month of the year, a month of birthdays, past and present, and anniversaries. May this month pass slowly. Let us enjoy it before the inevitable holiday rush.
