The Last Few Days

On Saturday, I met Dad for the Auburn football game. We lost the game, but it's always a pleasure to be back in Auburn. I'm reminded of my time there, including the classes, the fun, and the people I knew. It's amazing how much the campus has changed, with the new union and coliseum being built. It'll forever be a special place, no matter how many times I return to Auburn.

I especially enjoyed seeing my roommate, Edwin, and his wife Courtney. We ate and chatted for a while at Quizno's after the game. We reminisced about playing ultimate frisbee at Samford and talked about sports. We also rode by the CDV, where Edwin and I lived together, saddened to see that it is now a RV lot, save for the laundry, office, and maintenance buildings still standing. Edwin said if he'd known this would happen, he'd of stolen more stuff from there than he did... Anywho, I hadn't seen them since they married in the summer of 2005, but it was like no time had passed. I can't believe it had been so long, but I certainly had fun!

On Thursday, I watched Big Brother 8. Moyna got me hooked on the show this summer. I am disappointed that Zach was evicted. I never had a favorite or disliked anyone during the show, but in the last week I became irritated with Daniele and Dick. I didn't like their bullying and snobbish ways; I was hoping someone else would win, but it's not to be.

Last night, I watched the Emmys. As usual at awards shows, my favorites didn't win. They weren't even nominated. I like Without a Trace and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It's too bad the good shows are never the ones nominated, let alone the ones that win. It was a fun show, though. It seemed FOX cut off Sally Field's acceptance speech because she was about to comment about Iraq. I'm curious to what she said. I also liked the clip from Letterman where he says Bush lost his watch and describes it in case anyone sees it, saying that Mickey's gloves are white. So funny!
