Indians and Telephones
In class last night, the instructor gave us the following statistic, which I think comes from Thomas L. Friedman's book The World is Flat: 245,000 Indians living in India have jobs either answering telephone calls or calling people to solicit.
Just thought that was worth pointing out.

I think we need Americans on the phone calling Indians confusing them as much as they confuse and irritate us.
I also read somewhere that a McDonald's did not have a drive-through operator in the building--the person was in India and simply IM'd the order to the restaurant. Seriously. I'm not making that up.
So when you place your order you are actually speaking to someone in India? That's here in this country?
