Michael Jackson

I'm driving home around 6 yesterday when I hear on the radio that Michael Jackson is dead. I must admit that I have never understood his appeal. I never understood his musical talent. I don't get his mass appeal. His mistique eludes me.

He sold over 750 million albums. He influenced dance, music videos, and other musical artists. He is an icon of music.

I never did experience Elvis, but with how he has been immortalized in culture, I think Jackson could be the Elvis of my time.

Good analogy. He didn't influence me though. I must admit that I am shocked at the world-wide reaction. I honestly did not know he was this popular and admired.

For a short time he was even related to Elvis!

That was one of the few "records" I owned.

Moyna made the analogy about Elvis, but I agree it is a good one.

I might buy "Thriller."
